New acts have been announced for the return of the Chingford Village Festival.

Now in its 20th year, organisers have also secured a venue for a host of bands.

Organiser Irene Bull, has been running the festival in north Chingford for two decades, and says she has received more support this year than ever before.

She said: "I think where it was cancelled last year people really missed it, so I'm finding they're making more of an effort to get on board this year."

In 2012, the festival attracted more than 10,000 visitors throughout the day.

The choir at Parkside Primary School in Wellington Avenue, the music department at Rushcroft Foundation School in Rushcroft Road, and the Arts Award Theatre Company at Chingford Foundation School in Nevin Drive, are all lined up to perform.

Pupils from the three Chingford school's will perform to crowds inside St Peter and St Paul's parish church in Station Road on June 28.

This year's festival, which runs from from 12 noon until 5pm, will be funded through the cost of pitches for stallholders and sponsorship by the Guardian

The Station House pub in Station Road has agreed to host the live acts who will performing music from genres ranging from rock to jazz.

More bands, acts and stall holders will be announced in the coming weeks.
