The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, alerting residents and motorists to be aware of thick fog covering Essex this morning.

Dense fog is expected to clear slowly this morning, with visibility down to 100m in places.

The Met Office said the public should be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions and travel disruptions.

Low-lying areas are expected to experience the thickest fog.
