Traffic calming measures have been agreed for an accident hotspot.
The £69,000 project will see speed bumps installed at the junction of Forest Edge, in Farm Way, and Station Way, Buckhurst Hill.
Last night, councillors on the planning committee agreed action was needed.
Cllr Sylvia Watson, who sits on the highways panel, said she “fought” for the budget for the work.
Chairman of the planning committee, Lucy Bacon, said the community in Buckhurst Hill would appreciate the measures.
“It is a long time coming and it is very welcome,” she added.
