A contemporary pop choir has been given the honour of singing at the Sports Relief Games, this weekend.

Chigwell Popchoir will entertain audiences at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as it fully re-opens to the public on Sunday.

The choir, which sings a mix of contemporary pop songs from artists
including Adele, Coldplay and Jessie J is based at Victory Hall in
Hainault Road.

Popchoir founder and director Helen Hampton said: “We’re delighted that Comic Relief has asked us to perform at the first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, which will help raise funds that will change lives both in the UK and abroad.

“We’ll be making sure we sing some of our most upbeat and uplifting songs to keep the runners and motivated and help them achieve their goals.”

The Sport Relief will kick off a full schedule of events over the next few months for Popchoir, whose members also have performances lined up at the Ideal Home Exhibition, the Shepherds Bush Empire with rock band Foreigner and the London Marathon.
