An event promoting understanding of Islam and other faiths will be held in Essex for the first time on Saturday.

Peace Symposium, organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, aims to remove misconceptions of Islam.

Around 800 guests are invited to the event, which includes guest speakers Justine Greening, Secretary of State for International Development, and Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing.

The event will take place at Theydon Bois Village Hall in Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, at 4.30pm.

There will also be an exhibition of the organisation’s work in Theydon Bois Village Hall at 2.30pm.
