A man who admitted killing a cyclist while driving under the influence of alcohol has been jailed.
Kingsley Gordon-Allen, 20, of Ashville Road in Leytonstone, was sentenced to eight years and disqualified from driving for 10 years at Wood Green Crown Court.
In January he pleaded guilty to causing the death of 56-year-old Edward Orrey in Gainsborough Road, Leytonstone, on February 9, 2013.
Mr Orrey, from Cornwall, died instantly after being struck by a car driven by Gordon-Allen near Leytonstone Tube station at 6.36am.
Gordon-Allen failed to stop at the scene and his silver Peugeot 206 was found abandoned a short time later in Bushwood, Leytonstone.
A post-mortem carried out at Walthamstow Mortuary on February 11 gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.
