A driver was taken to hospital after his car flipped on to its roof this morning.

The Ambulance Service has confirmed a man in his 30s was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone after complaining of neck pain.

Police were called to Bush Road in Wanstead at 8.54am, where a Vauxhall Corsa collided with a lamppost.

Bush Road, Browning Road and Blake Hall Road were closed due to a lamp post lying across the road with exposed wires.

The roads were reopened at 9.45am and police said there were no arrests.

This terrible, how could it happen unless he was going at a ridiculous speed, hope he is prosecuted if he has been reckless.
