A soap actor won £15,000 for a childrens' hospice on a celebrity TV game-show last night.
Gary Lucy, who lives in Woodford Green, won the ITV1’s Big Star’s Little Star competition and donated his winnings to Woodford Green's Haven House Children's Hospice.
The game-show, which sees celebrities answer questions alongside one of their children, featured Mr Lucy with his 8-year-old daughter, India.
The 32-year-old has appeared in Hollyoaks and Footballers’ Wives is currently playing Danny Pennant in EastEnders.
Mr Lucy said: “The hospice is very important to all my family; I’m a patron and my fiancée is a paediatric nurse there, so we try to do all we can to offer our support.
“Being able to get our daughter involved and helping to raise funds and awareness was extra special and I’m delighted to have won so much for this vital local service.”
