A single from a Walthamstow-based record label has reached number 12 in the Official Asian Download chart just 24 hours after being released.

E1Seven Records’ debut release, Ishq Da Rogh by Walthamstow’s own SK1 featuring Tamzin, was released a day before the chart was announced on March 27.

Hana Kaur, chief executive of E1Seven Records, said: “We tried something new and experimented by releasing the single on a Wednesday and it worked.

“It’s a great achievement, we’re a new business, it’s a new single and because we’re both from Walthamstow and he’s established I collaborated with SK1.

“It’s huge and promotes local talent. We’ve achieved something first time and it puts our name out there for our next release. People will know about us.

“We formed with the view to discover new talent. We produce everything ourselves in our own studios and have a good relationship with the video company who are familiar with mainstream work.”

Mr Kaur worked for six months with SK1 to produce the track.
