A second teenager has been charged with the murders of two friends in Leytonstone last month.

Casey Jones, from east London, was arrested on suspicion of murder and charged on Wednesday.

He will appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.

Aaron Carriere, 21, and 20 year-old Josiah Manful were stabbed to death in a car parked in Montague Road, Leytonstone on March 1.

Devonte Campbell, 19, of no fixed abode, will appear at the Old Bailey on May 28 charged with murder.

Police have made 18 arrests in connection with the killings, with 16 of them being released on police bail until later this month, including a 46 year-old woman accused of assisting an offender.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service just before 1am on March 1 following reports of two injured men.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Post-mortem examinations found Mr Carriere died of stab wounds to the neck while the cause of death for Mr Manful was given as shock, haemorrhaging and stab wounds to the chest.
