A mother who pleaded for action over a neighbour convicted of racially harassing her and her son has been told Redbridge Council and her housing association will work to resolve the issue.

Tracey D'Rozario, 41, of Knights Way in Woodford Bridge claims Michael Feeley continues to break restraining order issued following his conviction, leaving her and her 14-year-old son living in fear.

The police are investigating Ms D’Rozario’s claims and Redbridge Council has vowed to carry out its own investigation.

A spokeswoman said: “The safety and wellbeing of our residents is paramount.

“We work closely with our partners and if a criminal offence has been committed we urge the residents to contact the police in the first instance.

"We will then conduct an investigation following their report.

“If a tenancy has been breached we will work with the courts to ensure the perpetrator is dealt with within the fullness of our powers.”

A spokeswoman for Swan Housing said: “Residents are at the centre of all that Swan Housing Association do, and we remain committed to working with our partners the Police, Community Safety Teams and Redbridge Homes, to find a satisfactory solution for our resident as soon as possible.”

Michael Feeley refused to comment.
