Nursery staff have been praised by Ofsted for promoting child development.

Woodlands Day Nursery, in High Road, Woodford Green, received a ‘good’ rating by inspectors following an inspection on January 29.

The report said: “Staff and management are clear about their role in protecting children and implement procedures to effectively promote their welfare. “Staff demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous development to promote good outcomes for children.”

Manager Claire Patmore said: "We are pleased to receive such a good judgement from Ofsted and we have been working very hard to provide a high standard of care at the nursery."

The converted cottage nursery with an outdoor play area was opened in 1993 and currently has 95 children from the ages of six months to five years old.
