An unemployed 49-year-old man yesterday admitted to growing cannabis in his Leyton home.

Jonathon Smith, of Boscombe Avenue, was arrested on January 7 after a drugs raid.

Yesterday at Thames Magistrates’ Court he pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug and diverting electricity to do so.

He was bailed until April 30 when he will be sentenced at the same court.
