The wife of the pilot killed in a plane crash will open a tea room as a tribute to her husband.
Lizzie Chamberlain is set to open the tea room at North Weald Airfield Museum honouring the memory of Simon, who died after the YAK 52 aircraft crashed into a field near Ongar on Saturday, March 29.
The aircraft had taken off from North Weald minutes before and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Pilot Andrew Sully, 50, of Chancery Place, Writtle, was also killed.
Mr Chamberlain, 29, from Cambridge Roa in, Harlow, had been the secretary of the museum and was planning on adding a tea room to the shop.
She posted a message on the museum’s Facebook page about her plans: “It was Simon's wish to open a small tea shop at the weekends when the museum is open.
“I have spoken to the chairman, who is also a close family friend and we have decided to go ahead with it in his memory.
“I will be helping out as best I can, as he wanted me to help.”
The inquests into the deaths of Mr Chamberlain and Mr Sully were opened in Chelmsford last Friday and have been adjourned until May 19.
