A man is due in court today charged with murdering two friends found stabbed to death in Leytonstone last month.

Wail-Suleiman Alawi, 23, from east London, was arrested on Wednesday and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Aaron Carriere, 21, and Josiah Manful, 20, were attacked with knives inside a black Ford Fiesta in Montague Road, Leytonstone, on March 1.

Two other men, Casey Jones, 18, of Walthamstow, and Devonte Campbell, 19, of no fixed address, have also been charged with the murders of Mr Carriere and Mr Manful.

Jones and Campbell have been remanded in custody and will enter a plea at the Old Bailey on May 28.

Police were called to the Leytonstone address by London Ambulance Service just before 1am on March 1 following reports of two injured men.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

In total, 19 arrests have been made in connection with the murders.

16 suspects are bailed until later this month, including a 46-year-old woman accused of assisting an offender.

Alawi was denied bail at yesterday's hearing and remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
