A court date has been set for a man accused of the fatal stabbing of two friends in Leytonstone last month. 

Wail- Suleiman Alawi appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday charged with murdering Aaron Carriere, 21, and Josiah Manful, 20, in Montague Road, Leytonstone on March 1. 

Alawi was arrested a week ago today, and is the third man to be charged in connection with the deaths. 

Mr Carriere and Mr Manful were attacked with knives inside a black Ford Fiesta and pronounced dead at the scene. 

Casey Jones, 18, of Walthamstow, and Devonte Campbell, 19, of no fixed address, have also been charged with the murders.   

Alawi, Jones and Campbell have all been remanded in custody to enter a plea at the Old Bailey on May 28. 

Police were called to the Leytonstone address by London Ambulance Service just before 1am on March 1 following reports of two injured men.

In total, 19 arrests have been made in connection with the murders.

16 suspects are bailed until later this month, including a 46-year-old woman accused of assisting an offender.
