A public meeting has been organised over the so-called housing crisis in London.
High rents are causing people to live in fear of eviction, according to Redbridge Trades Union Council.
In a statement, a spokesman said: “We are now going back to where we were 100 years ago, when 90% of properties were privately rented and millions were forced into overcrowded slums."
Speakers at the event will include John Cryer MP for Leyton and Wanstead, Heather Wakefield Unison’s Head of Local Government, Eileen Short from the Defend Council Housing campaign and Rosie Walker of Waltham Forest Renters.
It will be held at 7.15pm on April 30 in Leytonstone Library, Church Lane.
