Rubbish has turned a picturesque pond into an eyesore.
An area of Eagle Pond, off Snaresbrook Road, is full of detritus, including plastic bottles and crisp packets.
The area is maintained by the City of London Corporation.
A spokesman said: “Windblown litter in Epping Forest’s ponds is an ongoing concern. Not only at Eagle Pond but Hollow Ponds and Alexandra Lake in particular.
“Litter is not only dangerous for wildlife, it costs us over £300,000 every year to collect and dispose of as well as detracting from the beauty of the forest.”
A litter picker is being sent to remove the rubbish.
