A man who admitted eight offences including heroin possession and drink driving was given a community order.
Christopher Glenn Morris, 42, of Latchett Road in Woodford, was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £145 when he was sentenced at Thames Magistrates’ Court last week.
He was also disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to forfeit drugs in his possession.
Morris stole meat worth £15 from the Co-op in Hatch Lane Chingford, on February 9 and failed to surrender to police after bail on March 31.
He was found carrying heroin on April 23 2011 and February 4 this year, and failed to attend a follow-up assessment for the presence of heroin on February 6.
On April 23 2011 he drove a BMW 318 on the M4 motorway with 247 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath – far above the 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres limit.
