A £200,000 scheme has been approved to replace safety barriers along a road over the M25.
The work will be done on section of Hobbs Cross Road leading up to a bridge over the M25, near the Hobbs Cross Golf Course, Theydon Garnon.
The project will stabilise the embankments on both approaches which have subsided in places.
A temporary speed limit of 30mph is in place while the four barriers are replaced.
The work is part of a £1.5m barrier maintenance scheme by Essex County Council and is due to be completed by April 2015.
