A man was taken to hospital after a car flipped over.

The London Ambulance Service took the man, reported to be in his 50s, as a priority to Whipps Cross University Hospital after the incident in High Street, Wanstead, today.

The car flipped over near Wanstead station, shutting slip roads on to the A12 at around 3.20pm.

All roads have now reopened and traffic has returned to normal.

Glad to hear nobody was seriously hurt.

To flip the car in that place/position takes some doing.

Some drivers heading east along Cambridge Park try and use the left hand turning lane for Wanstead High Street at the George lights to skip the traffic queuing to head down to Redbridge roundabout - is this the cause of today's flying focus?

Leave off, they can do their own Nimbyism work, but they are probably more intelligent in Redbridge and less territorial.

Who is this 'you?'

I do not drive, I am an avid cyclist but you cannot close the roads down to suit your Nimbyism, people have to use cars.

ive no objection to people using cars if they use them sensibly - and who says the roads are being closed down - if your a cyclist why does it bother you as most of you ride on the pavement anyway. and why the love of the word nimby - rather be a nimby then a numpty

No mention of excess speed in the story- could've been anything: a health issue, avoiding someones pooch in the road, drunk, anything......and given that it says near the station I would very much doubt speed had anything at all to do with it, but yet again we have a variation on the usual knee-jerk mindless response "maybe you need speed tables put in ".

To roll a car requires something pretty drastic happening, it's not an everyday occurence even at motorsport speeds so maybe before we jump to the conclusion of slapping in yet more trtaffic calming at an already well-calmed spot we should perhaps wait for the outcome of any investigation.
