A woman had to be treated by paramedics after fire ripped through the ground floor of a terraced house this morning.
The London Fire Brigade were called just after 8am this morning to the two-floor terraced house in Long Green, Chigwell, which left 50 per cent of the ground floor damaged.
The fire was put out just after 8.45, by two fire engines from Hainault and Ilford.
The woman had left the house before the fire brigade arrived. She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by the London Ambulance service, but was not taken to hospital.
