A woman has been hospitalised with neck and back injuries after a crash between a car and a van.

The collision happened on the A406 North Circular shortly before 10am. It was on the westbound carriageway between the M11 junction 4 and the A104 Woodford New Road, leading up to the Waterworks Corner roundabout.

The woman, who was in her mid 20s and driving a grey Mini, was taken to the Royal London Hospital by ambulance crews.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area as two lanes remain closed following the crash and two miles of queuing traffic is reported.
