A man yesterday admitted to shoplifting £144 worth of champagne from a Sainsbury's store.

Gary Hughes, from Caernarvon Drive, Ilford, pleaded guilty to shoplifting four bottles of champagne from Sainsbury’s, in Cranbrook Road, Barkingside on Saturday.

The 33-year-old has been bailed to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court tomorrow for sentencing.
