Firefighters have been praised for preventing a "difficult" fire spreading to neighbouring homes.
A total of 25 firefighters were called to Rowley Mead in Thornwood at 1.15pm today.
The blaze started in the roof and spread throughout the two-storey property.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the roof to tackle the flames and prevent damage to adjacent homes.
Occupants managed to escape the flames and no-one was injured.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the blaze.
Speaking at the scene, Station Officer Galloway said: "Officers had to work very hard to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring houses.
"It was a very difficult job. Firefighters had to wear breathing apparatus in the roof to deal with the fire."
