A 27-year-old man has been jailed for 27 months for dealing cocaine and Heroin.

April Adrah Asher McKenzie was spotted cycling in Hainault Road, Leytonstone, which police say is a drugs ‘hotspot’, on April 5 by the borough’s gang taskforce.

Officers believed he was acting suspiciously and searched him on the spot.

They found drug paraphernalia and screwed up bank notes in several of his pockets.

McKenzie was then taken to a police station to be further searched.

There, police found 47 wraps of Class A drugs, both heroin and cocaine, in his socks.

Later that evening, Adrah Mckenzie was charged and remanded in custody to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday April 7.

Last Tuesday McKenzie, of Leabank Square in Hackney, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court to 27 months’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after he pleaded guilty.

Police Constable Thomas Johnson, of Waltham Forest’s Gangs Taskforce, said: “This was a fantastic result which was concluded in a speedy manner and resulted in a drug dealer being removed from our streets.”
