A man has died after the car he was travelling in collided with a sign post, police have revealed.
Andreas Elias, 21, from South Woodford, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Woodford Road, Forest Gate, at 2am on April 20.
A post mortem showed the cause of death was head injuries.
The driver of the car, a 24-year-old woman, remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
Another passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was discharged from hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened outside a supermarket near Wanstead flats.
