The Great Waltham Abbey Bake Off returns next Saturday, with a seven year old cooking prodigy looking to defend his crown.

The categories for the bake-off will be Lemon Meringue Pie, traditional Victoria Sponge and the new category for this year, the Showstopper.

Richard Walters, Waltham Abbey Church Warden said: “The new category will be exciting, you need to keep it sweet, but can go wild on the presentation.  Almost anything will be accepted, so we are expecting some wonderful creations.”

Last year’s overall winner was seven year old Kye Page, who spent the day with the head chef at Parsons Resturant after gaining victory with his fruit loaf.

This event will take place on Saturday 10th May at Waltham Abbey Town Hall and is in support of Christian Aid.
