The Howard Road resident is accused of attacking his girlfriend last month
A man accused of attacking his girlfriend and starting a fire at his home has appeared in court.
Luigi Damiani, 51, of Howard Road, Walthamstow, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court today charged with arson, affray, and assault.
Police were called to his home on March 9 at 12.20am following reports of a domestic incident during which Damiani is accused of attacking Addolorata Solmenese.
An hour later, fire services arrived to extinguish a small fire started in the kitchen, which was under control by 2am.
He has been remanded in custody to enter a plea at Snaresbrook Crown Court on July 16.
