The 21-year-old man was rushed to Royal London Hospital but he later died.
Police are appealing for information after a fatal collision in the early hours of this morning.
The 21-year-old man was driving a Ford Focus when it hit a wall in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, at the junction with Gants Hill Crescent, at around 2.30am.
Police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended the scene and he was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where he later died.
Police confirmed the man was an Ilford resident but would not provide any more information on his identity.
A post mortem is due to be arranged.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath are investigating. Anyone with information should call 0208 597 4874.
