Police have issued a warning to the public following a month-long vandalism spree.

Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been done to cars in the last four weeks in streets around Jessel Green, Loughton.

Nine cars, including a VW Polo, two Mercedes C220s, a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi A3, were all heavily scratched along one side with sharp metal.

The total repair bill has is estimated at £5,000.

The owners of the cars live in streets surrounding Jessel Green.

Investigating Officer, PC Danielle Brennan, said: "As you can see, there is no pattern nor any particular type of car which has been damaged.

“The vandalism spans the range of vehicle luxury. We would ask people to report any suspicious-looking people to us immediately. Each act of criminal damage was carried out overnight.”

Anyone with information on any potential suspect is urged to contact neighbourhood policing officers at Loughton police station on 101.
