A pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a council CCTV car earlier today.
The victim, a 42 year-old woman, has been rushed to the Royal London Hospital with head and leg injuries after the car mounted the pavement in Kings Head Hill, Chingford, at around 7am.
Emergency services were called to the collision opposite Chingford Police Station at 7:15am and took over from officers who had been administering first aid.
The woman's neck was then strapped and she was taken as a 'priority' to hospital.
Officers from the station cordoned off the scene at the junction with The Rigdeway.
Police are yet to reveal further details about the woman's condition and if any arrests have been made.
The junction between The Ridgeway and Kings Head Hill remains closed and the 97 bus is being diverted.
Drivers should seek alternative routes as there is a heavy build-up of traffic in the area.
Waltham Forest Council's parking enforcement contractor NSL has been contacted for a comment.
