A health and fitness instructor is going solo after the collapse of a national franchise.

Ros Conway, from Canterbury Close in Chigwell has set up her own fitness classes, after running a Rosemary Conley franchise for 12 years.

The nationwide company went into administration this year and had to terminate Mrs Conway’s class.

The 63-year-old is now running her classes under the name Simply fit with Ros Conway.

She said: “It’s daunting but I’m ready to go for it.

“I’ve had some brilliant years with the Rosemary Conley brand but I am so excited to be launching this new business.

“I’ll have to do all the admin and the advertising but I get more of a say over how it’s done.”

Mrs Conway got into the business of teaching the classes having previously been a member and losing two and a half stone with the regime.

The classes provide members with exercise and dietary advice as well as putting people through a fitness regime.

She said: “The key is to keep the exercise varied so that it’s not boring and make sure people have fun.

“If people have fun they’re much more likely to come back and keep losing weight.”

Mrs Conway runs two classes in Epping Forest, one in Loughton and another in Epping and offers newcomers a free first session.

Each subsequent session costs £6.50 and classes run on Tuesday at 6.30pm at Epping Primary School and on Wednesday at 9.45am at Wesley Hall in Traps hill, Loughton.
