Epping Forest has recieved a £145,479 grant for disabled sports.
The project is one of 44 across England to benefit from £8.06million of National Lottery investment to improve opportunities for those with disabilities.
The Epping Forest project, Six for All, will work with sports clubs in the area to assist them in developing specialised schemes.
Sports and health development manager, James Warwick, said: "It means a great deal in terms of increasing participation for disabled people in Epping Forest as it provides invaluable funding to help us extend the opportunities for disabled children, young people and adults in the local area to get involved in sport."
