The wreckage of a Range Rover in the forest belongs to a woman who was uninjured in an accident, police have revealed.

The vehicle, which remains in the forest in Goldings Hill, Loughton, crashed into the forest at around 3.45am on Sunday morning.

Mystery surrounded the circumstances of the accident as the ambulance service stated that a man was being dealt with by police at the scene.

Essex Police have now revealed that it was in fact a lone woman driver in the car.

A spokesman said: “I do not know if she went to hospital. That night the Metropolitan Police were on routine patrol because it is on the border.

“There was no offence committed and the driver was fine.”

The crash happened at around 3.45am in the early hours of May 4.

However, two people have been arrested on suspicion of stealing from the vehicle. 

A 38-year-old man from Ilford and a 37-year-old man from Hendon have been bailed until May 25, pending further enquiries.

The crash is not believe to be connected with the accident which DJ James Kenzie, formerly of pop group Blazin' Squad, was invloved in on the same night.
