A £1million hotel renovation project is due to be fully completed next month.

The County Hotel, in Oak Hill, Woodford Green, is branching out to cater for business meetings, weddings and school proms.

Work will be fully completed by August 11 and the new lobby and reception area will be completed next week.

Managed by Redefine Management, the hotel is planning to apply to become one of only four Best Western plus hotels in London.

When completed, the hotel will have 102 bedrooms.

The Stateman suite was completed last month and can cater for events of up to 250 people, and be split into smaller rooms for business meeting space.

Weddings have already been held at the hotel and a number of events, including a wedding fair, on October 5 have been planned.

Maria Souto, sales manager of the County Hotel, said: “It is a complete renovation. The hotel was looking old, dark and tired so this has completely transformed it. There is natural light and a natural feel to the design.

“We are working with the local community and offer our services to businesses. The design is in keeping with nature and the forest, so it is quite a transformation.

“Each function room has natural light which is not provided by other facilities, and with a beautiful forest next door it really is the perfect setting for businesses to come and hold meetings.

"The weddings have been a real success and people have told me they want to come back - they are amazed by the transformation to the hotel."
