Another national food retailer has closed in Epping High Street and will only re-open if a deal on a new lease can be agreed.

Subway is currently closed and the branch has been removed from the company's website.

A spokeswoman for the sandwich retailer said: “We are currently in the final stages of completing a renewed lease for the premises because the lease at this store was due to end.

“The store in Epping has been temporarily closed. We are looking to reopen the store in mid-June this year.”

The closure follows news earlier in the year that the Wimpy restaurant in High Street will not be reopening despite an original claim it was closed for refurbishment.
