A man murdered in Dagenham over the weekend was from Leyton, police have confirmed. 

Police were called to The Beaver Centre in Selinas Lane at 5:35am on Sunday following reports of someone stabbed. 

The victim, 25-year-old Ashley Latty was taken to an east London hospital but was pronounced dead at 7:15am. 

It is understood Mr Latty was stabbed following a dispute between two groups at the entrance to The Beaver Centre, where a private party had been taking place.

On Monday, a post-mortem examination was carried out at Queen's Hospital Mortuary in Romford, which found the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

In the last 24 hours, two men have been charged with the murder.

Nana Oppong, 33, of no fixed abode, and Adam Penny, 23, of Whitechapel, were arrested on suspicion of murder along with a 29-year-old man when their homes were raided on Monday evening.

Oppong and Penny were subsequently charged and will appear at Thames Magistrates Court today. 

The 29-year-old and two other men aged 38 and 31 have alll been bailed pending further enquiries until early July.
