A bar owner is aiming to raise hundreds of pounds for a hospice which cared for his friend's terminally ill grandchild.

Father-of-two Suja Khaled, who has owned the Luna Lounge in Church Lane, Leytonstone, for 11 years, will take on the challenge in July in aid of Keech Hospice Care in Bedfordshire.

Mr Khaled, 38, said: “It has always been one of my ambitions in life to skydive so I thought I should do it and raise money at the same time.

“An old friend of mine told me about his grandchild who was cared for at the hospice and I was very touched by the things that he told me.

“In 2012 I raised £512 for them just by doing a karaoke night.”

The skydive will take place on July 27.
