Residents helped plant bee-friendly flowers in a street as part of a Olympic Legacy project.
Those living in Gordon Road, Wanstead, spent two hours on Saturday morning planting the flowers in the tree pits.
Wanstead and Woodford Friends of the Earth were given the grant for the Seeds for Snaresbrook project.
It is designed to create a healthy environment for bees and stop the need for spraying pesticides or herbicides in the tree pits.
