Businesses in Waltham Forest have been supporting Leyton Orient players as they get set to play at Wembley this Sunday.

Flags and messages to the team can be seen pinned to gateposts and hanging from windows all around the borough as excitement grows.

Yesterday, ahead of their clash with Rotherham in the League One play-off final on Sunday the O’s spent time in Leyton High Road.

Players and management dined out at Gym’s Kitchen, which claims to be the UK’s first restaurant with a devoted protein-based menu.

One of three owners, Steven Mavrou, said that he was delighted to welcome the team, who were in good spirits ahead of their battle to earn a  place in the Championship.

He said: “A lot of the players eat here regularly because it is a health food restaurant.

“Management are taking control of their diet but this is a place where they can eat out because of our menu.

“They came after their training session at Orient for a bit of bonding before they went off to Wembley for a tour.”
