A man has been jailed for causing death by dangerous driving after leaving his friend for dead in Chingford following an earlier collision with a lorry.

Saulius Kipraitis, 32, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court, to four-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.

In June last year, Kipraitis drove his car at speed after a party with Elvadas Kacerauskas, 30, as passenger.

Kipraitis lost control of the vehicle on a roundabout in Mollision Avenue, Enfield, and collided with an oncoming lorry.

He then drove the damaged Mazda two miles to Kings Head Hill in Chingford before stopping and abandoning the car with his injured friend still inside.

Elvadas Kacerauskas was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries the following day.

I am sure the nationality of the defendent will have been given in court so why not report it? Is this another EU citizen who has broken our laws but not facing deportation?

Because like the impact uncontrolled immigration is having on schools, hospital waiting lists and jobs, crime by foreign nationals is yet another issue that Labour and the Coalition are unwilling to debate and sweep this under the carpet in a fe able attempt to dupe the public into thinking everything is rosy.

I remember this well. I saw the car at the end of my road the following morning although it looked as though it had been crushed, there was nothing left of the vehicle it was in pieces (not surprising considering it collided with a lorry). When i spoke to the police officer at the cordon he said two men believed to be Lithuanian had sped off when police attempted to pull them for speeding...

With friends like that who needs enemies !

27 months is pathetic. He'll be out in just over a year wearing his 'tag of dishonour'.
