UKIP, Conservative and Labour all have MEPs for the Eastern region

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) gianed a seat from the Liberal Democrats in the Eastern region as they claimed victory in the European election.

Conservative and Labour retained their seats, winning three and one respectively.

Voting in Epping Forest reflected the region as a whole, with UKIP receiving 13,866 of the 34,429 votes.

Conservatives won 10,742 and Labour 3,915.

The seven elected representatives for the Eastern region were:

Patrick O’Flynn –UKIP
John Agnew – UKIP
Tim Aker – UKIP
Victoria Ford – Conservative
Geoffrey Van Orden – Conservative
David Campbell Bannerman – Conservative
Richard Howitt – Labour

The turnout for the election was 36.19 per cent.

Then its about time that the mainstream "old guard" parties start to listen to what people think. They have become to detached from public opinion and their tactics of telling us what we are going to accept as options has now gone.

There is a new kid on the block.

I personally feel its a bit of a shame that most people are not aware of the rest of UKIPS policies and have just voted really on an anti EU and anti immigration ticket. I am a little dubious of libertarianism.

When people cannot get their kids in their local school and they see jobs being taken by immigrants they looked to the causes and conclude that they are hard done by.
