Cannabis plants have been found in a property while fire crews were investigating a blaze in a neighbouring building.

Essex police have confirmed a number of plants were recovered from a property in Brunel Road, Chigwell, but are were unable to confirm the amount.

Police were also unable to confirm if any arrests have been made hover neighbours claim the occupants of the property had been taken into custody.

Up to 30 fire-fighters tackled a blaze in the adjoining property which broke out at 4.15pm yesterday.

Nobody was injured in the blaze which was extinguished by 7pm.
