Suspect is accused of stealing fuel worth £40 from a Walthamstow petrol station in April

Police in Waltham Forest have released a CCTV image of a suspected petrol thief.  

Suspect 148272 is wanted in connection with a theft from Rainbow Service Station in Forest Road, Walthamstow, on April 19 at 5:10pm. 

He is accused of filling up a car with £40 pounds worth of fuel and driving off without paying. 

The CCTV images have been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify potential perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.

Anyone with information should contact Waltham Forest police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

If he is nicking petrol, then his plates are false, meaning he has no insurance etc etc! - The police should mention this too!

If Garages were truly worried about petrol theft they would improve their camera quality and do what many countries do, and make drivers pay for fuel first.

On both counts we can see basic common sense lacking...... again!
