A man will appear in court today accused of criminal damage and assault.

Hussevin Erkan is alleged to have assaulted a Waltham Abbey man in the town on December 28, last year.

The 33-year-old is then accused of damaging hundreds of pounds worth of designer clothes, household items including a shoe cabinet and jewellery.

Erkan of Avenell Road, Highbury, denies both charges and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court today.
