A town festival will end with a study day for anyone wanting to know more about the First World War.

The Loughton Festival ends on May 31, with an event led by David Stevens, an expert on the First World War, who has written five books on the subject.

Prof Stevens is also a founder member of the festival and still lives in the town.

The study day will cover how the war began, developed and concluded and will include the screening of a new short film about the battle of Mons, produced by Loughton poet Ed Pond.

The study day will cost £15 or £12 for concessions and will start at 9.30am at Lopping Hall in High Road, Loughton.
