Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked outside a pub leaving him with a broken cheekbone.

At around midnight on April 11 a man was walking home past The Clydesdale in Loughton.

Two men were fighting outside and the passer-by tried to break it up.

The 29-year-old victim was punched in the face.

He was taken to hospital where he discovered that his cheekbone was fractured in three places.

Following an operation he has been left with metal screws in his face.

He also had 30-40 staples across his head.

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward over the incident in Westall Road.

Despite house to house enquiries and checking CCTV police have been unable to identify the suspect.

The victim, who cannot recall exact details of the incident, describes the two suspects at around 5ft 11ins tall, both white and medium build.
