A cafe has been told it needs urgent improvement by the Foods Standards Agency (FSA).
A branch of Belgique in High Road, Loughton, was given a score of zero out of five for hygiene following an inspection on April 14.
The cafe is trading today.
The manager at the cafe is on a training course today and unavailable for comment.
The FSA has been contacted for further details.
