A new £1million wing at a primary school has been officially opened.

The Warner Wing, named after Raymond Warner, the chairman of governors for almost 20 years, was opened at Hereward Primary School in Loughton yesterday.

Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing unveiled a plaque at the site.

The building provides two additional classrooms, three small group rooms, a library and a hall at the school, which was rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Mrs Laing said: “I am delighted to celebrate the opening this important new part of Hereward School.

“I have watched the school go from strength to strength over the years and its increasing popularity has made the extension of the buildings all the more important.

“Raymond Warner has been a dedicated and very hard-working Chairman of Governors. He deserves every credit for all that he and his team have achieved for the school.”
